Durant la première quinzaine des soldes d’été, les ventes de vêtements ont augmenté de 3 à 5% en moyenne par rapport à la même période en 2007. D’après l’Institut français de la mode (IFM), qui publie ces premiers chiffres sur les soldes jeudi 17 juillet, ces résultats sont « contrastés » selon les rayons. Les ventes d’articles masculins ont enregistré les meilleurs chiffres.
Par rapport à l’année dernière, les stocks disponibles étaient plus importants, car les ventes du premier semestre ont été médiocres. « Des rabais plus importants » ont également été pratiqués. Les soldes d’été ont débuté le 25 juin dernier dans la plupart des départements.
